Never soak in water

Never use harsh chemical cleaners as they will remove the protective oil layer

Apply food safe mineral/walnut oil periodically to protect the wood's surface & original color

Sand rough spots with 220+ grit sandpaper

Wood may expand & shrink with changes in temperature & humidity
